MAA GUIDELINES PROCEDURES AND CATEGORIES

 
A. BUSINESS AND ENTERPRENUER
         1. BEST CORPORATE BUSINESS
A corporation or Individual who is achieving excellence in business field, and giving back to the Malawi community. A business which demonstrates a genuine passion for social issues, with a proven track record of operating a successful business enterprise.
 
B. ARTS, SPORTS AND CULTURE.
        1. BEST ARTS AND CULTURE
People who are bringing Malawian Arts and Culture to the World, those who are involved in work such as fashion designing, drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, design, crafts, photography, video, writers, drama, models etc.
 
         2. BEST MEDIA
A Corporation or Individuals with an outstanding record of achievement coupled with Excellency in Media. A Business or person whose extraordinary performance clearly shapes the Malawi Community positively.
 
        3. OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN SPORTS
Any person having an outstanding record of achievement coupled with Excellency in sports. A person whose extraordinary performance clearly shapes sports
 
C. COMMUNITY
         1. BEST MALAWIAN EVENT AWARD
A UK Malawian Event that has delivered a positive impact to the Malawi Community. Cantered on philanthropic goals as well as social well-being of the disadvantaged Malawians here in the UK and Malawi or other activities that serves the public interest or common goal.
 
        2. MALAWI ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR
A Malawian Association in UK that has worked and campaigned tireless to deliver a positive impact to the Malawi Community and other activities that serve the public interest or common goal.
 
        3. RISING STAR AWARD
Individuals who have taken upon themselves to campaign tirelessly to improve the Malawi Community. Influential, inspiring and in the news. From all walks of life-Musicians, actors, politicians, sports stars, artists and models. Others have a lower profile but still intrigue with their determination to make their mark.
 
        4. COMMUNITY CHAMPION (HUMANITARIAN) AWARD
An individual who has made a substantial contribution to the Malawi community in the past year and a figurehead for change and progress. A person who demonstrates kindness/ humanity, compassion, and goodness, (regarded as fundamental to the way Africans approach life)
 
D. RECOGNITION AWARD
        1. ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
An Individual who has or is not only achieving Excellence in his or her own life but also gives his skills, knowledge, time back to the Malawi community in UK or Malawi.
 
         2. INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION AWARD
A non Malawian organisation or Individuals, who embraces, represents, support and promotes the spirit of Malawi and has championed the causes of Malawians in the UK and Malawi.
 
        3. SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
Malawian or Non Malawian owned Organisations or Individuals who the judging panel consider to be Pride of Malawi. Has worked and campaigned tireless to deliver a positive impact to the disadvantaged Malawians.
 
         4. LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
An individual who has made a substantial long contribution to the Malawi community and a figurehead for change and progress. An individual whose achievements have been far-reaching, possibly on a national or international level.
 
If you are under 18, please make sure you have your parent or guardian permission. If your nominee is under 18, please make sure you have their parent or guardian's permission. We have a special Awards for 2016, and nominations will close at midnight on Saturday 15th January, 2016. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
